If you work in Retail or Transportation & Logistics, there’s an abundance of industry-focused sessions, activities, and networking opportunities at your fingertips during Extreme Connect 2019. Innovation is the name of the game this year with our Future Forward theme. In the spirit of this theme, our program is stock-full of informative content surrounding the top trends impacting the industry today and set up to engage in open collaboration with like-minded peers. All in all, providing you with relevant and tech tips and ideas to use well after the event concludes. Want to learn more?
Extreme Connect provides an excellent opportunity to boost your networking skill-sets in an engaging forum with industry peers. There are a cross-section of pertinent technology sessions to choose from! For example, in our Industry track, covering broad topics and directions in IT networking, you can brush up on your cybersecurity acumen by joining ‘Trends in Cybersecurity and Practical Steps to Protect Yourself’ or you can check out a more focused session by attending ‘Microsoft: Cloud Security,’ delivered by a Microsoft Cloud expert onsite. With an increasing number of devices and applications requesting network access, a robust security strategy in Retail and Transportation & Logistics is never more important than it is today.
For organizations who hope to achieve improved operational excellence and a more personalization experience via Wi-Fi, should join ‘Extracting More Value from Wi-Fi with Location Analytics’ in our ‘Technology Explained’ track, where we’ll host a deep dive of the latest location-based technologies. In the same track, attendees can join ‘Smart OmniEdge: Axis for Mobile Services and Applications.’ Due to the advent of IoT, the volume and variety of personal devices, and the growth of cloud-based technologies accessing and supporting the organization, the network’s edge is an especially critical component for Retail and T&L, learn the best practices around securing and enabling all these activities is paramount for your business, and Extreme’s Smart OmniEdge solution is here to help.
There are also vertical-specific sessions, like ‘Designing Retail and Hospitality Wireless for Customer Engagement,’ where our Wi-Fi experts share RF/network configuration tips meant to maximize the guest experience in your environment. Of course, let’s not forget the litany of technical sessions designed to expand your knowledge of Extreme’s solutions, like ExtremeAI, ExtremeMobility, ExtremeSwitching, and Extreme Management Center.
When you aren’t attending a session or a tech deep-dives at Extreme Connect, the demo hall is a perfect area to stop by, grab a snack and a beverage, and explore. Several technology and product-specific demo stations will be on display, spanning across Extreme’s portfolio, allowing you to choose the solutions that most interest you or that best align with your future IT-networking goals. Each demo station will have at least two Extreme specialists to deliver an overview of the technology or answer any questions you may have. This is your opportunity to tap our experts!
The demo hall will also feature industry-specific technology showcases, including a Retail and Transportation & Logistics showcase, respectively. In our Retail showcase, we’ll be demonstrating a real-time demo of ExtremeLocation, pulling live data from Connect’s onsite devices and movements, illustrating the power of location-based analytics and contextual guest engagement. During your visit, make sure to also discover how Extreme’s technologies is powering the in-store ‘smart’ shopping experience of one of the most innovative retailers in the US! In the Transportation & Logistics showcase, we’ll offer a simple, effective solution for securing all your IoT devices on the network, we’ll speak to other the challenging and hazardous Wi-Fi environments our technologies support, and much more.
On top of the compelling sessions and interactive technology showcases, Extreme Connect is also designed to create plenty of networking opportunities and collaborative activities with your peers, to include peers both in the Retail and Transportation & Logistics industries and outside of it. You already know about some of the industry breakouts (cited above), but if you’re looking forward to sharing experiences, IT challenges, and lessons learned with peers in your industry, make sure to attend the Retail and Transportation & Logistics ‘Birds of a Feather’ session on Thursday from 9 am – 12 pm local time. This open, ‘roundtable-like’ forum is moderated by Extreme customers from Retail and T&L organizations and will only involve an audience of colleagues; there is minimal (if not zero) vendor participation to ensure the dialogue is only driven by the topics you and your peers want to dig into. There are already over 30 confirmed Retail and T&L customers registered for Extreme Connect, and this number only climbs every week!
Outside of the planned networking opportunities and sessions, Connect has plenty of built-in social events and receptions, perfect opportunity to catch up with your peers in a casual setting. It’s also a great way to meet Extreme customers outside of Retail and T&L, to learn about all the interest ways other industries are using networking solutions to accomplish their goals.
Outside of the informative deep-dives, technology showcases, and networking opportunities (which should already get you excited about attending), this year’s Connect agenda includes a ton of fun and entertaining activities, including:
