Rachel Ramsey – An Unsung Hero of the IT Channel

Brenda Richardson Americas Channel Sales & Strategy Leader Published 28 Sep 2020

I’m pleased to announce that CRN, a brand of The Channel Company, has recognized Rachel Ramsey, Strategic Partner Sales Manager, as one of their 100 People You Don’t Know But Should for 2020. This annual list pays tribute to the professionals who power the channel every day.

Rachel, a Utah-native, has been in the tech industry for 16+ years with tenures at HP, Incontact, and Cisco before joining Extreme. She’s worked in both sales and the channel but prefers “the channel – hands down” because of the relationships she gets to build with partners.

“CRN’s “100 People You Don’t Know But Should” spotlights some of the channel’s best and brightest people. I’m thrilled to see Rachel Ramsey on this list. Her years of experience, innate desire to win, and commitment to execution will help us drive global channel efforts and elevate our vision of cloud-driven networking. Her care and concern for not only our Extreme Channel community but also her team and peers at Extreme is valued greatly.” – Brenda Richardson, Americas Channel Sales & Strategy Leader

“Managing a successful channel partner program today calls for a small army of people, but only a few Channel Chiefs tend to enjoy widespread recognition,” said Blaine Raddon, CEO of The Channel Company. “With the 100 People You Don’t Know But Should, we are delighted to shine a spotlight on an exceptional group of unsung team members, giving them some of the acclaim they deserve for their indispensable contributions to channel success.”

What drew you to Extreme?

What piqued my interest was the many positive things I heard from past co-workers that came over to Extreme. They would tell me about Extreme’s values, culture, and very exciting roadmap – I wanted to know more. Since coming on board, I’ve loved that Extreme is a large company, but not giant, so I feel like part of something and not some blip on the map.

What impresses you about Extreme’s channel program?

The first thing that jumped out at me when I joined Extreme that was different than any of my past experiences was our robust marketing programs and resources, like PMCC, Partner Engage, and Dojo.  We offer our partners so much, make it easy for them, and most offerings are cost-free; this has not been my experience, and it definitely sets us apart.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I love anything that involves my family; I’m married with two adult children and a spoiled long-haired dachshund. We have the most beautiful mountains and red rock wonders in Utah, so we love to get outdoors and hike, camp, fish, or just drive around together.  I love to travel and I have a very long list of places I want to visit – the top of that list is New Zealand.

“I am truly humbled to be recognized by CRN and the channel community. I love working in the channel because of the relationships I get to build, and the impact I have the opportunity to make. I love working in the exciting and ever-changing world of technology, especially since I get to do it with such an amazing company like Extreme Networks.” – Rachel Ramsey, Channel Sales Manager, Extreme Networks

“Congratulations Rachel on this honor! Your accomplishments and leadership are valued across the organization and by our channel community. Thank you for your continued commitment to excellence!” – Brenda Richardson, Americas Channel Sales & Strategy Leader
