It was incredible to connect with hundreds of customers and partners in the recent webinar “The Current State of Wi-Fi 6 and 6E”. If you were unable to join us, don’t worry, the recording is available here, so you can watch it from the comfort of your home.
The excitement about Wi-Fi 6E is palpable as the questions poured in: What client devices do we expect to support 6 GHz? How will coverage and capacity differ between 5 GHz and 6 GHz? How will interference affect the 6 GHz frequency bands? Rest assured, we will roll out a series of blogs, best practices, eBooks, and webinars to address these essential questions.
Extreme partners and customers have already begun planning for tactical deployments of Wi-Fi 6E with the AP4000, Extreme’s first-to-market Wi-Fi 6E access point. So, during the webinar, we provided a sneak peek of Wi-Fi 6E configuration and monitoring visibility within the Extreme CloudIQ management interface. Likewise, I wanted to give you a visibility preview within this blog.
1. Administrators can easily create a Wi-Fi 6E specific SSID for 6 GHz only clients or can create multi-frequency SSID profiles.
2. Wi-Fi 6E provides a boatload of new channels in 6 GHz, we offer an easy method for channel selection, including the highly anticipated use of 80 MHz and even 160 MHz channels. And if you want to exclude some channels manually, you can do so. Click on the video below to see a short demo:
3. Besides providing simplistic configuration workflows, Wi-Fi 6E monitoring AP and client metrics such as channel utilization is critical. So, check out the health score visibility!
