Women Who Changed Tech – Five Trailblazers

Join us on a journey through time as we unveil our new blog series celebrating the groundbreaking contributions of historical women in technology. To kickoff this series we have created a video about five women who broke barriers and paved the way for future generations.  These women include: 

 Ada Lovelace 

Ada Lovelace, or Augusta Ada King, was a British mathematician and writer credited as being the first computer programmer. 

 Dr. Adele Goldberg 

Dr. Adele Goldberg is an American computer scientist who is known as the “godmother” of graphic user interface (GUI).  

 Annie Easley 

Annie Easley, a mathematician and rocket scientist, was a trailblazer as one of the first African American employees at NASA.

Grace Hopper 

Grace Hopper was a mathematician and US Navy rear admiral, played a key role in the development of COBOL in the 1950s.

 Karen Spärck Jones 

Karen Spärk Jones was a computer science researcher and is known for her role in the development in search engine technology.  

Each month, we’ll delve into the stories of pioneering women, exploring how their innovations have shaped the world we know today and what their legacy could mean for the future of technology.
